Virtual Reality at CES
Virtual Reality was one of the prominent technologies among the numerous others. Top three topics on Virtual Reality, covered during conferences were:

This year, Razer’s Project Ariana gaming projector won the “Best Gaming” show honours. It offers Virtual Reality experience without a headset. Gone are the days when displays had to be on-screen, Razer Chroma lighting technology can project the video-game visuals around your room. This sensational product has the power to completely absorb you in the game.
HTC Vive powered by Dassault Systems Immersive 3D experience software offered immersive experiences for visitors. You could pull the virtual handle, get into a DS 4 Crossback, modify the interiors at your will, look around and get down just as you do in a real car. The experience was reported to be so realistic that you can expect majority of test drives and product designing efforts to be empowered by virtual reality soon.
HTC unveiled an adaptor for enabling the Virtual Reality headsets to be wireless. It also announced a new tracker accessory that can be attached to data gloves and gaming objects like guns and bats. It will enable the user to move and use these objects in a more realistic fashion.
Intel’s Project Alloy is also coming soon in 2017 with mixed reality experience. Among other Virtual Reality devices were: A wearable, Reliefband Neurowave to prevent motion sickness during a Virtual Reality experience; Cerevo’s Taclim strap-on shoe, to enhance the tracking and mobility of the user in the virtual environment; Hypersuit that is designed to mimic a virtual flight in the sky; Kodak PIXPRO Orbit 360 4k VR camera that has lenses on both the side to capture and display a spherical video.
It was quite evident at CES 2017 that Virtual Reality technology will undergo continuous improvements. Virtual Reality market is growing, especially for gaming and entertainment. Now, smaller companies are also showing interest in this technology.
We expect the customers to embrace the technology, simply experiencing & admiring Virtual Reality won’t help. Apart from the hardware, various apps and subscriptions will go a long way in making Virtual Reality appealing to the prospective customers.
